Florence Visit No 1
Florence 2026 It’s been a lovely week in Florence, having travelled over by train, via Paris, Stuttgart and Venice, the hotel was relaxing, albeit the rooms weren’t huge and the showers not a great water flow. It was likely reflecting the age of the guest :-) . I managed to see a lot of art, sculpture, crafts, drawings and furniture, as well as a Hurdi Gurdi from the 1500’s which was a surprise, having seen one in the last 20 years plated at a folk festival - the recent one didn’t look as good as the old one. It was a pleasure seeing some of the Michelangelo's artwork (David and others) And then seeing the Botticelli’s the following day was incredible. Im not one for religious paintings, but that they were painted by such masters of their art, it made it all worth it. There was a lot more but Im on mobile data so will do an update when i eventually get home.
