 Industrial

Ive been painting a lot of abstract art recently, and im in two minds about it. I like the colours and the less controlled painting style, but it feels like Im not focusing on realism or reflecting something other people can see and recognise, like coastlines, flowers or mountains.

In the other hand, I love the freedom to just feel the art - yes that sounds really contrived - but its the only way I can describe the feeling when dabbing colours onto a canvas representing water falling or a ray of light or, as in this one, the distress of the surface of a industrial surface, with splashes of red that could be rust or blood, and a hark back to the gilded history with the silver brass and gold splash at the bottom and flecks of it above

its helping clear my thoughts so thats a good thing for me

what do you think

this is a section of the panel

its a long and thin canvas so is almost a door panel in size so quite dramatic
